DNV-ST-E271 : 2.7-1 Offshore Containers
DNV 2.7-1 Standard for Certification is a written standard for structural design, fabrication and testing of CCU used to move cargo in a container with a certified lifting sling. DNV 2.7-1 is applicable to container shaped transportation units used for repeated handling in offshore environment with gross weight less than or equal to 25,000 kg.
DNV Certification Note 2.7-1 was first published in 1989 to address the structure required for the unique forces at work on a container being lifted by a lifting sling in the open seas. It has been updated several times since its inception.
DNV 2.7-1 certification should be issued by widely accepted competent authorities.

BV is often used to certify offshore refrigerated containers. ABS is used for CSC, DOT and other certifications required in USA.
